I have dragged my vintage wrought iron table around for almost 15 years. I bought it at a tag sale in Rye in 2006 and always found a place for it. I love it.
Here it is rusting on my balcony in Boston. This piece needs space and a spot to show off! I suspect this table is mid-century and possibly designed by John Salterini. He was known for the round flat feet on his pieces (like mine) and designed his wrought iron furniture to be special enough for both inside and outside use. There are Salterini pieces available on Etsy and Chairish ~ so pretty.
I dragged it to Block Island for a fresh paint job and a bigger space to shine.
Lots of rust. I will give the rust a light sand and then paint.
Arn’t these little flat feet the best!
I also love this circle detail on the design, another Salterini signature.
This is my favorite go-to for pieces like this. Paint and primer in one and anti-rust. I am giving this girl a nice, high gloss shine!
Coat one. Battling some serious wind here, so most of the paint is on me….
Sunnier day and two additional coats on, so three total. She looks camera ready!
Don’t forget to paint the underside. The feet on this table were rusted both on top and bottom, so important to protect all sides of a piece.
Done! Her new home is on our outside deck. It will be the perfect spot for serving cocktails, food or just a place to put some lilacs that are currently in bloom.
I love seeing the circle detail through the glass.
We are going to inaugurate this new space tonight with some chilled rose and a Block Island sunset.
My HYACINTH candle is finally ready this week! I tried to get it out before Mother’s Day, but manufacturing lead times are very long right now. This fragrance is my #1 best seller and heavenly to have in your home heading into summer! Click on the label artwork above for more information.

Love this, getting me motivated to clean up and paint my iron table that has been hanging in our shed. Just not sure what chairs will look best. What chairs will you put with the iron table.
Any cute outdoor chairs will look fine with an iron table, they don’t have to match the table.
A little late to the dance but had a question. I have seen tables like this before, yours looks wonderful, and I was always thinking that the “circles” were to hold flower pots. Perhaps terra-cotta ones with flowers. Did I make this up or is this a thing?
Yes, the circles definitely had flowers in them! I remember that in the 1970’s
