A few weeks ago I posted about renovating our two Block Island bathrooms. Here is the reveal ~
 Â
Where we started upstairs. Two different rooms, not well put together. Old house syndrome.
Gutted, the space is much more open now. A 60″ double vanity fits perfectly where the old linen closet was.
Getting there! All accents are black in this bathroom. Hardware, lights etc. A nice contrast against the white.
Â
White hex floor going in. You can see the new linen closet carved out on the left. It is sunken into a storage space behind the wall. The shower floor going in on the right.
The new shower is so nice and big compared to our tub/shower situation before!
We swapped in a pocket door to save space in the new configuration. There were two doors in this small bathroom before, cluttering things up.
Voila! We saved the wooden floor in the front room and had it sanded down. I love how it helps define the two rooms. The double vanity looks great here. Because my chosen color palette was gray/white, I did do an accent wall with bright wallpaper. I had to!
The wallpaper adds brightness to the room, ties in the gray vanity (the three small dots) and satisfies my color itch. Wallpaper from Spoonflower.
 Â
So clean and fresh.
 Â
Shower floor and niche match. Love the long gray tile against the black Grohe shower hardware.
 Â
Linen closet holds a lot and you don’t see it! French poster with a snowman drinking iced coffee is my nod to color in this room. Ties in the turquoise and yellow from the wallpaper.
View with the pocket door closed. French “Vitabrill” poster in orange.
 Â
The greatest IKEA medicine cabinet ever! Wood, 4 glass shelves, holds a ton. Fits nicely in my little nook before you enter the next room. I have so much storage space now, absolutely nothing has to be OUT and my bathroom can look neat. Love my two mirrors over the vanity with the black horizontal lights.
We are so happy about the way it turned out!
 Â
Now, let’s move downstairs.
Guest/Powder room before.
In process.
Tile in.
I love the penny tile stripes around the tub! We put shiplap on the walls instead of bead board. A single sink vanity in navy (Color is Hale Navy, Benjamin Moore) and Annie Selke 20″ x 20″ floor tile. Lots going on in a small room, but somehow it works. I think.
New tub. No more claw foot!
I chose a Lucite shower rod so it disappeared, did not want to see it walking into the room. Didn’t want to see a shower curtain either so got this one from Amazon. Clear and not a focal point.
Close up of penny tile. He did a great job!
  Â
Chrome accents in this bathroom. We did a waterproof roller shade because the inspector said the window needed to be protected. The window surround is now white marble vs. wood to protect it from water splashing.
Bathroom artwork.
Rattan mirror over the vanity. New sconces from Visual Comfort that do NOT have pull chains! They also have glass shades, so less mold in a wet room. And pretty.
FIN! Â Here is the blog post with the bathrooms “before.”
