Happy July 4th 2021 ~ it’s time to celebrate!
Last year was subdued, to say the least…. so we are making up for it this summer.
I am giving away Three of my Hyacinth Candles to readers who comment on this post and tell me what they are excited for this July 4th. Please include your name or initials in your comment. I will post the three winners on my instagram @thewryhome Monday, July 5th.
I’m excited for the Block Island July 4th parade.
Wearing red, white and blue….
Parties on decks. Hi Sarah!
Having my whole family together. Both of my girls will be with us for the holiday weekend and we have Grace’s 24th birthday on July 3rd. A lot to celebrate in our house.
Dressing up Rhino for the holiday. She is 14.5 years old now and we are grateful she is still with us to enjoy the 4th!
Lazy beach days…
FIREWORKS!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. I am mixing up a big batch of Aperol Spritzes even as we speak! Don’t forget to comment for the Candle Giveaway.

looking forward to recapturing the spirit of America, no matter where we live or where we came from.
Happy 4th Susan!
I always love the Apawamis Fourth of July celebration in Rye. They create a giant family affair with ice cream trucks, bouncy houses, face painting, BBQ and frosty cocktails on the golf course. Everyone marks their spot for fireworks with a red or blue blanket and it creates a giant patchwork quilt on the fairway. Fireworks are always amazing. Just got a cute dress at Palmer and Purchase. I can’t wait to celebrate! Enjoy the fourth, Liz! We miss you all! Rhino looks so cute with his Americana. Xx
Miss you guys too! Have a wonderful 4th
Your photos warm my heart ! Such fond memories! We will be in nearby Watch Hill . New chapter. We have no idea what we are doing … but love adventure. See you on the Block – NEXT weekend. We have a new cocktail for the fourth – peach vodka mules. Toasting all our friends on Block !
We miss you here! You are in my childhood stomping ground. Call me when you are out here!!! xx
I am excited for big fireworks extravaganza and festive family event at our golf club. We all missed this fun tradition last year!
It is going to be a great 4th Elisabeth!
Sitting on a blanket at Apawamis, watching fireworks but will miss our view from the 23rd floor towards the Charles (and you)! Enjoy the holiday, Liz! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I will miss seeing you guys through your window and out in the wild! Happy 4th xx
So looking forward to getting back together with my family (finally) and sitting on the beach watching the fireworks! It’s been too long, but the absence of normalcy has certainly made me appreciate the little things.
Enjoy the 4th on BI!
XO
Happy 4th Phyllis! We can take our new knees out for a spin 🙂
Happy 4th to you and your family 🇺🇸
Family is what it is all about!
100% Karen!
AYC is our summer happy place but even more so when fireworks are on display. The array up and down the Long Island Sound over the 1st few days of the month are capped off with Macy’s extravaganza on the East River visible from Picnic Point. What better way than to celebrate with friends and family and honor our freedoms and liberties secured by our forefathers. We will miss you sweet Liz but know you will enjoy Island festivities. Oh say can you see…….
Happy 4th Missie!
I can’t wait for the Hingham, MA parade that got the go ahead very last minute. We will watch with friends then take a boat ride with them up to Gloucester to meet up with some friends we have missed during the pandemic. I hope you have a blast, Liz! I know Tim from NJ (Kristi Novotny Shreenan) and love keeping up with your family doings on your wonderful blog. My nephew’s fiancee has an aunt and uncle that live on Block Island year round; it’s on my Bucket List to visit. Happy 4th!
Have a wonderful 4th in Hingham Kristi!
Celebrating the big night down at AYC is always a wonderful time – but I also love organizing cocktails on the quiet night at Picnic Point . We watch fireworks going off across the sound on Long Island. A beautiful backdrop! Happy 4th! Hope to see you soon!
Sounds glorious Kate! Have a wonderful weekend!
I can’t wait for 4th parties! I’ve missed just hanging out with friends.
Me too!
Liz, I always look forward to your Wry Home posts! Looking forward to being able to see and gather with friends and family over the holiday weekend on Nantucket. The candles look gorgeous and I’m sure they smell lovely as well! Have a great Fourth!! xo
