It’s been a while since I have written a blog post. A little pandemic fatigue over here. But a recent trip to Newport, Rhode Island to meet up with old friends perked me up.
Staying in a classic historic Newport home and walking around this beautiful town was the uplift I needed. The architecture here – both the early American houses and the grand cottages – is off the hook!
Newport houses have the greatest doors. Away from this trip, I have been a little preoccupied this fall. We are moving apartments in Boston next month. I have a (big) birthday coming up ~ ugh. And I just scheduled a knee replacement for December 8th and am a little bit nervous…..
All of these things combined have been a little distracting.
My knee replacement is being done in NYC and a dear friend in Rye is lending us her house post surgery so I can heal and be close to the doctor in case anything goes sideways. I am so grateful for her generosity! Thank you Kate.
Our move is not well timed, but, it is a gut renovated apartment in our building, 5 floors higher with beautiful views. Everything will be new and fresh and updated, so we couldn’t pass it up. Very excited!
Back to Newport. Thank you Elliot and Dan for hosting us in your beautiful home! My friend Julie and I walked from Elliot’s house to Nitro Bar for coffee in the morning. Then we had a brutally competitive hearts game with Julie and Didier. Â LOTS of laughs (and wine). This was the tonic I desperately needed!
Newport is truly a jewel box, with stunning homes around every corner.
I will take this fixer upper please!
