The adrenaline rush around our November move and the holidays took a giant dip when January rolled around… The cold and wind blew into Boston and I blew out of town!
My husband was on his way to Killington to ski with Rye friends for MLK weekend. So I went in the other direction, corralling my two daughters for some fun and sun in LA.
Emily and I stayed at the PaliHotel in West Hollywood. The hotel is “ok” but the neighborhood is nuts! In the middle of everything you want. Grace moved to LA in September, so West Hollywood is central to her new apartment too. We threw our bags in the room and headed to Melrose. First stop ~ Glossier and Golden Goose.
We passed by the massive line at Adidas for the new Beyonce “Ivy Park” launch. The line went down three blocks AND to the other side of Melrose!
Emily grabbed a really cute shirt at Fred Segal and then we headed to meet Grace at work so she could give us a tour of her new office. No pictures allowed, but they are gorgeous.
We stopped at the UTA Artist Space to see the exhibit “DISEMBODIMENT” right around the corner from Grace’s office. The gallery cycles in new exhibits all the time ~ definitely worth going if you are in the area.
We all needed a coffee, so we stopped at the Urth Caffe for a pick me up and then had to do the obligatory shot in front of the hot pink Paul Smith building!
SISTER, SISTER!
We ate at some fabulous places this trip. Petite Taqueria (Mexican) Friday night with cute Sophie from Charlotte. Cecconi’s (Italian) on Saturday night where we randomly ran into our dear friend Alicia, and Nora’s (American Contemporary) on Sunday night – all in West Hollywood. All DELICIOUS.
Yes, I made them do the Warner Brothers Tour!
In front of the FRIENDS fountain! I think they have seen every episode 3+ times.
A NYC stage set (left) and some weird babies in the WB prop room…
A quick stop at Central Perk.
After all our touring, it was time to put our feet up and have a late afternoon Spritz before heading out for dinner.
Sunday was a very lazy day. We wandered through the West Hollywood Farmers Market and went down to Venice for a late brunch at Gjelina. It was so wonderful spending this time with my girls. I didn’t want it to end…
Grace suggested Tarot Card readings all around, so we ended the weekend by popping into Tin Can Tarot on Abbot Kinney. Thank you for a wonderful weekend my lovelies.
