A recent trip (see here) inspired me to pull together colorful fabrics to use for some of my summer redesign projects.
Using the rainbow of shades ~ turquoise, blue, sand, orange, pink, coral, yellow ~ from the Turks and Caicos was all I needed to start my hunt!
Not to be cheesy, but I wanted to find fabrics with BEACHY icons….. shells, crabs, starfish, bathing suits, nautical stripes.
I was NOT disappointed in my search.
Duralee, Stroheim, Kravet, Lilly Pulitzer, Jonathan Adler, Thom Filicia and Robert Allen all delivered in spades on the fabric front. Most of these fabrics are very reasonably priced. The few that are more expensive can just be used as accents in a room.
Love these two bright pink fabrics from Kravet. The same color as a beach rose in Turks.
Sunsets and windsurfer sails inspired this group of orange fabrics.
Shades of blue were everywhere. Turquoise water…
Clear blue skies.
You can’t do a beach theme without a little navy and white!
Mixing lots of stripes with patterns. I might need to be reigned in a little.
I could go crazy in my house with all of these fabrics, but my husband has his big eyeballs on me, so I think I will set aside the majority for clients (I qualify as a client?). I am doing adorable beach window treatments with the coral Stroheim “Canton” fabric. Big oversized pillows for a screen porch in the navy Duralee crab and yellow/white stripe. The turquoise shell is going on two blond x-stools for a beach house living room. Let me know if you want any information on the fabrics featured here!

Love all the combos especially the canton urn fabric. Just finished a Newport refresh ourselves after burst pipe and went a little cheesy myself w a fun Clarence House wallpaper w lobsters and sea life for a half bath. A little goes a long way! Wish I had more rooms to use some of these! Refresh on!
what a smashing website/blog. The colors are delicious! Makes we want to run off to the Turks and Caicos and on the way redo my house! Gorgeous Liz!
Thank you Susie!
Hi. I would love to know the brand(s) of the “shades of blue” photo!! Love your groupings!! Thanks and Happy 4th!
All three of those fabrics are Duralee. I am away for the 4th so don’t have the pattern details with me, but I definitely know Duralee makes them and I can find out more information after the weekend! Happy 4th 🙂
Thank you so very much! Have a wonderful 4th! Cheri
