Tim and I decided to treat ourselves to a little trip as a reward for selling our house and moving cities. Not having any new or creative ideas, we packed our bags and headed to our tried and true Nevis for a brief respite.
We both felt pretty rung out from the past few months, so heading back to Nisbet Plantation was an easy no-brainer for us. Land, unpack and head to the beach!
Delta miles got us there for free at the last minute ~ yeah!
We did plenty of relaxing, but also rented a car for the week and got off campus. We browsed other hotels, always keeping a mental file with new places to go. We took a look at The Hermitage Plantation (above), Montpelier Plantation and Beach Hotel and the Goldenrock Inn as future places to stay.
Montpelier (pool above) is an old sugar plantation from the 1800’s that has been beautifully updated. It sits 750 feet above sea level with stunning views of the ocean. This is definitely on our list as a new place to stay!
Goldenrock is also stunning with gorgeous red accents throughout the entire resort.
We hit a few different beaches too. Gorgeous view of St. Kitts from here.
What I love about renting a car are the beautiful vistas you see all over the island! Does not disappoint. Mt. Nevis (above left) on a clear day. A lone sailboat off Pinneys Beach.
An ADORABLE new restaurant called “Drift” just opened near the Nevis airport. Here are the views while you are having lunch. We fell so in love with it, we ate here one night for dinner and another day for lunch!
We went to the “Gin Trap” and “Bananas” for dinner and “Sunshines” for lunch another day. Sunshines is all about the killer bee cocktail, which we both happily enjoyed…
The rest of our time was lounging around Nisbet Plantation. Hot tub, hammock, beach, pool. I read a bunch of trashy books. Had a sunset cocktail every night. Thank you Carol!
We did not realize how tired we both were until we got there! It was a wonderful week for both of us.
