I made four small changes to my front hall recently. I painted the walls, added crown molding, changed the color of the table and replaced the lamp. I love how little things can make a big difference.
Here is my front hall this past Christmas. The blue glazed walls are pretty, but I needed a change. See my strange ye olde man lamp? Don’t ask. The table and mirror will stay.
About to paint. Using Farrow & Ball Joa’s White on the walls. There is no crown molding here (see above), but it is everywhere else in the house. Strange.
This is the crown we have in the rest of the house. My contractor couldn’t find it, so he had to make it from scratch.
New crown up, still needs to be caulked and painted. The ceiling will also be Joa’s White like the walls.
This is the table I have in the front hall. I love the table, but the red doesn’t work anymore.
A fresh coat of black paint updates the look.
I chose a turqouise lamp to replace the other one. A pop of color as you walk through the front door. Can’t seem to get away from blue in this space!
Finished! Fresh and pretty. A place to toss your keys, drop your mail, check your lipstick going in or out the door.
Small changes can make a big difference.

LOVE it! Soft and fresh – and a calming way to “come and go.”

Pottery Barn. A great color and a great price!
This is light and beautiful! I love your simple, cost efficient changes that make a huge difference. I look forward to your blogs like I used to wait at the mailbox for the new Oprah magazine back in the day!
What a compliment Lisa!
Putting me in the same sentence as Oprah… I’ll take it.
