Spring in New York kicks off lots of fun designer events. I love going to the Kips Bay Showhouse and checking out what top designers are loving and using in their rooms. I brought my friend Kathy with me this year and we went late afternoon on Met Gala Monday.
This year I gravitated to the little details as I can get overwhelmed by how much there is to see! We both loved this moody black granite bar with its own beer tap.
This pineapple lamp would be perfect for my living room…. love the spiral detail on the back of this chair.
Laundry room art.
The colorful staircase by Sasha Bikoff.
Hyacinths add a pop of color to a room and Alexa Hampton takes red to new heights.
Mark D. Sykes is bringing French Country BACK in his cozy bathroom. He continues the shower curtain fabric around the sink and put in a killer basketweave marble floor. LOVE IT!
This bedroom was so soothing and cozy, it would have been easy to just lie down…..
Elegant detail at the end of a bed. Mother’s Day anyone?
Beautiful corner details.
This outdoor space was even more private because of the matching awning above the seating area.
Amalfi lemon outdoor fabric.
Lots of sweet seating spots for curling up.
This is not the greatest picture, but Kathy and I coveted this media room. A big square room with a giant navy sectional and a plush, modern rug. There is a huge TV across from the seating area and a fabulous bar tucked around the corner. Heaven.
We had a fabulous afternoon at Kips Bay, topped off with a glass of Pinot Grigio on our way home. I passed this happy NYC doorway on our walk to get WINE.
Since it was Met Gala Monday, I thought it was mandatory to get as close as I could to the museum to peep at arrivals. This was my best shot before I was shooed away by the men in black suits!
